Bernina Owner's Classes

The Presser Foot believes that the most important part of your machine purchase is the education and support that you receive after your purchase. We strive to provide you with classes that are exciting and inspiring.

These classes are free when you purchase a machine from The Presser Foot.

We do ask that you register in advance for classes, so that we can have kits prepared for you.

Sewing Machine Classes
Bring your machine (no embroidery unit), accessories, pen and paper, and your Basic sewing supplies (small scissors, thread, etc). Mastering Workbooks, found on the CD that is in the top of your machine box, may be printed out and placed in plastic sleeves to create a personal workbook. We provide fabrics for these classes.

These Classes are Free with the purchase of your machine from The Presser Foot.


Care and Feeding of Your Bernina

Our technicians wrote this class. Using the best supplies & taking proper care of your machine will give you many years of enjoyment. We will cover needles, threads and machine maintenance.


Mastering Your Bernina
We use the utilitarian stitches more than anything else on our machines! Start with the straight stitch then go beyond the basics, including button holes, blind hem, satin stitch applique.


Taking Your Bernina to New Heights
This class focuses on the decorative functions of your machine. Learn great ways to use your machine to embellish your next project. Covers stitch combinations, using memory and more!

Machine Embroidery Classes

Bring your machine with embroidery unit or embroidery machine, embroidery attachments, pen & paper. Your embroidery unit should have the default designs. Mastering Workbooks, found on the CD that is in the top of your machine box, may be printed out and placed in plastic sleeves to create a personal workbook. We provide fabric, stabilizer and threads for these classes.

Aurora owners please bring a laptop and your Editor Lite dongle. If you don't have a laptop, class may be taken in a lecture/demo format.

Embroidery Beginnings

We will start you on your embroidery journey with the basics such as what needles, threads and stabilizers to use. We will teach you how to hoop your fabrics for successful embroidery projects. * Aurora Owners please take EC on PC before taking Embroidery Beginnings.


Alphabet Antics

The next level of embroidery includes how to change designs on your machine, add letters and personalize your projects.

 

Happy Embroidery Machine

This 12 needle embroidery machine can speed up your embroidery, and embroider a twelve inch quilt block in one hooping. We will cover how to transfer designs to the Happy Machine, how to set up needles, hooping and the maintenance of the machine.

Software Classes

Bring your laptop with Bernina Embroidery Software installed, your software dongle, pen & paper. If you don't have a laptop, you may sign up to use our classroom machine or class may be taken in a lecture/demo format.

Software Editing

Introduction to Bernina Embroidery Software and basic editing. We will discuss how your computer is set up, calibrating your monitor, all of the tools available for editing embroidery designs.


Software Lettering

Using Bernina Embroidery Software you can personalize all of your embroidery projects! We will focus on how to use the fonts and styles available in the Software. Editing techniques will be reviewed.


Software Digitizing
With Bernina Embroidery Software, you can create your own embroidery designs with the click of a button! We will cover the basics of the automatic digitizing tools and the power of the manual digitizing tools available.


Software in a Day

This all day class includes all 3 software classes in one day. Bring a lunch and spend the day learning how to use your Bernina Embroidery Software.


EC on PC

Covers Editor Lite and how to use EC on PC to run the Aurora embroidery machines. Please bring your embroidery unit and sewing machine. *Please take this class before taking Embroidery Beginnings.

 

Explorations 

Covers Explorations software basics.

My Label Software

At last the ability to make patterns to fit your shape!  Rediscover garment making all over again with Bernina's My Label.  This class will cover the basics of the software.  For measurements and fitting classes please see the My Label seminars on the class schedules.

Serger Classes

Bring your serger, pen & paper. Mastering Workbooks, found on the CD that is in the top of your machine box, may be printed out and placed in plastic sleeves to create a personal workbook. We will provide thread and fabrics for these classes.

Serger Basics

Learn about your Bernina serger, how to care for it and how to thread it. We will cover thread tension and how to create the stitches that sergers do so well. For all Bernina Sergers.


Chain and Cover

This class will teach you how to thread the chain and cover machines. We will talk about how to use these unique features for both construction and for decorative embellishment. For the Bernina 1300, and the Bernina 009 machines.

 

Handi Quilter Classes



Handi Quilter Basics
This class will teach you how to maintain,thread and run your new Handi Quilter machine. We will discuss how to balance tension, easy ways to load your quilts on to the rails and tips for quilting your quilts. 

Handi Quilter ProStitcher
This class will teach you how to use many of the wonderful functions found on the Prostitcher. We will discuss how to resize and rescale designs, precision placement and pattern repeats.  We will also cover the basics of the Cabin Logic's Quilt Cad, the software used to create designs for the Prostitcher.
