The young design BernettesBernettes

“Fascination with the machine goes hand-in-hand with a passion for using it” – that’s one thing the young industrial design students at the Northwest Switzerland University of Applied Sciences for Art and Design can agree on. Their project – assigned by BERNINA – was to create a sewing machine with a young design. Students Mario Rohner and Florian Huber designed a brand-new young-looking sewing machine called blo:c – the look of the new bernette!
The design boasts a number of special features. blo:c is angular yet rounded. Clean and streamlined, yet inspires creativity. Useful functions and features blend perfectly with an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The smooth white surface shines like lacquer, emphasized with black patches lending emphasis. The red digital display glows through the white surface.

Young design for any age: simple, modern, cosmopolitan, robust. That’s the new world of bernette – blo:c, pure and simple!
