|Begin your artistic and creative quilting journey by learning new techniques, exploring your own creative interests and materials and tools from an artist's perspective. Focus on inspiration and experimentation to move out of your comfort zone into a new creative space! Mary Louise will guide you along with concepts, illustrations and assignments to be completed at home in between classes.
| Session One (Jan. 27):
Intro and Self Assessment
Session Two (Feb. 10): Materials, Tools and Construction Techniques
Session Three (Feb. 24): Elements of Design
Session Four (March 10): Principles of Design
Session Five (March 24): Composition—Putting it all Together
Session Six (April 14):
The Big Reveal—Sharing Final Projects (at whatever stage)
|Please note that you must attend all six sessions. There is no sewing in this class but it will be included in some of the assignments you will complete at home. New material will be presented at each session.
Discussion about the assignments and your experiences with creativity is a crucial part of the learning process, so students are expected to complete assignments as much as possible in between sessions.
There is no supply list for this class as supplies will vary with projects.
