Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery Classes for Everyone

Our staff teaches sewing, quilting and embroidery classes featuring a wide variety of projects for different skill levels. We've even got sewing classes for kids! Most of our classes are open to owners of any brand of sewing or embroidery machine (unless specifically stated in the class description)—all you have to know are the basic functions of your machine and how it works. Please read our Class Policies before you enroll for your class.

Below is a preview of what's coming up at The Presser Foot. Please click the link in the class listing to view the entire class description on the calendar page and to see the link to the supply list. Class fee does not include supplies unless specifically stated. Please review and download the supply list before you register for the class.

Please enroll for your class by calling the store at least two days  prior to class day so that our instructors can have enough kits, handouts or other class materials for you. There may be some preparation work required before class day—if this is the case it will be noted on the class supply list, so please be sure you enroll in class enough in advance that you can complete the prep work!

We add new classes frequently. Don't see what you want? Get a couple of your friends together and ask us about creating a class just for you! To see complete details about each class and to download the supply list for that class, visit the calendar page for the store location the class will be held at and click the class listing on the calendar.

May's project is a zippered tapestry bag. Kit fee is $6. (Please make sure you reserve your kit early, as quantities are limited.) Your kit will contain the fabric, stabilizer and a zipper. You'll provide your own thread, and for this project you will need to purchase the embroidery design yourself from Embroidery Online. It's design number 12869-01L and if you click the link below in bold, it will take you directly to where you can purchase the design. PLEASE NOTE: you must purchase the size of design to fit your hoop--there are two sizes available, for the Bernina large oval hoop or for the Bernina Maxi or Jumbo hoop(s). If you do not select a design size, the default is the large oval size and that is what you will get. If you choose to purchase the kit from us, it does contain enough materials to do the larger size bag. Tune into the live Zoom meeting and follow along so that you can see how the project is done and ask any questions you might have. Then you can stitch your project with confidence, having seen it already done, and take advantage of the recorded Zoom session to guide you as you embroider!

Click this link to go directly to the design used on the sample, and you can purchase the format you need.

Remember, your annual club membership gives you unlimited access to the recorded video of how to make your project on the Virtual Embroidery Club page in the Members section of the website. We recommend you tune into the live Zoom meeting and follow along so that you can see how the project is done and ask any questions you might have. Then you can stitch your project with confidence, having seen it already done, and take advantage of the recorded video to guide you as you embroider!
