Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery Classes for Everyone

Our staff teaches sewing, quilting and embroidery classes featuring a wide variety of projects for different skill levels. We've even got sewing classes for kids! Most of our classes are open to owners of any brand of sewing or embroidery machine (unless specifically stated in the class description)—all you have to know are the basic functions of your machine and how it works. Please read our Class Policies before you enroll for your class.

Below is a preview of what's coming up at The Presser Foot. Please click the link in the class listing to view the entire class description on the calendar page and to see the link to the supply list. Class fee does not include supplies unless specifically stated. Please review and download the supply list before you register for the class.

Please enroll for your class by calling the store at least two days  prior to class day so that our instructors can have enough kits, handouts or other class materials for you. There may be some preparation work required before class day—if this is the case it will be noted on the class supply list, so please be sure you enroll in class enough in advance that you can complete the prep work!

We add new classes frequently. Don't see what you want? Get a couple of your friends together and ask us about creating a class just for you! To see complete details about each class and to download the supply list for that class, visit the calendar page for the store location the class will be held at and click the class listing on the calendar.

Embroidery Club--January 2025

Thursday, January 16, 2024           from 10am to 12pm                                       Class Fee: $35
                                                                                                                                         Instructor: Debi Urban

January's project is a recipe towel. Class fee includes project materials for one towel: stabilizer, one towel, the embroidery design and use of our embroidery threads in class. If you would like to duplicate the thread colors exactly as they are on the store sample, please ask Debi to email you a copy of the thread chart so that you may bring your own thread to class.

This beginner level, in person, hands on class is perfect for those who have taken the owner's / guide classes (Quick Start Embroidery 1 and Quick Start Embroidery 2) and are ready to go onto the next step in learning how to use the embroidery features of their machines to create beautiful, personalized embroidered projects. Bring your machine, embroidery module, hoops and accessories to class and we'll help you complete this project!

Kit fee is included in class fee. Advance registration is required—call and register today!

Extra kits (if there are any left after class) will be available for purchase after class. You may purchase the kit only if you do not wish to come to class, but it does not include the embroidery design.

Quilted Poncho

Saturday, January 18, 2025  and           from 12pm to 4pm                             Class Fee:  $75
Saturday, January 25, 2025                     each day                                               Instructor:  Sarah Ann Wells

This is an in person ,hands on, TWO SESSION class—you must come to BOTH class sessions.

Come and create your own quilted poncho. If you've been wanting to jump on the quilted garment trend and you're looking for an easy place to start, this is the class for you!

Over the course of the two class sessions, you'll learn to measure for, cut and create your own quilted poncho. This cozy addition to your wardrobe is perfect for days when you need an extra layer or for those who need something that is easier to slip off and on than something that has to go over your head. The buttons down the front make this fast to put on and add a decorative element to your poncho.

The pattern is included in the class fee.

This in person, beginner friendly class is designed around AccuQuilt's fabric die cutting machines and the Block on Board Dies from AccuQuilt.

January's project is the Turkey Giblet / Mindful Poppy Block. Let's talk turkey--that is, the AccuQuilt GO! Turkey Giblet BOB (Block on Board) die. This month we'll use three colors of fabric to make a lively poppy block.

Project materials are not included in class fee. Advance registration is required—call and register today!

Don't have an AccuQuilt die cutting machine or dies? No problem! You may use our AccuQuilt die cutting machine and dies in class. We do ask that if you plan to cut multiples of this project, please bring and use your own die cutting mat so that we can preserve our classroom mats as much as possible.
