Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery Classes for Everyone

Our staff teaches sewing, quilting and embroidery classes featuring a wide variety of projects for different skill levels. We've even got sewing classes for kids! Most of our classes are open to owners of any brand of sewing or embroidery machine (unless specifically stated in the class description)—all you have to know are the basic functions of your machine and how it works. Please read our Class Policies before you enroll for your class.

Below is a preview of what's coming up at The Presser Foot. Please click the link in the class listing to view the entire class description on the calendar page and to see the link to the supply list. Class fee does not include supplies unless specifically stated. Please review and download the supply list before you register for the class.

Please enroll for your class by calling the store at least two days  prior to class day so that our instructors can have enough kits, handouts or other class materials for you. There may be some preparation work required before class day—if this is the case it will be noted on the class supply list, so please be sure you enroll in class enough in advance that you can complete the prep work!

We add new classes frequently. Don't see what you want? Get a couple of your friends together and ask us about creating a class just for you! To see complete details about each class and to download the supply list for that class, visit the calendar page for the store location the class will be held at and click the class listing on the calendar.

This month's lesson covers a review of applique stitching methods and the applique tools, and the differences between digitize applique and advanced applique. You'll learn all about setting properties for applique, adjusting the offset for decorative stitches, creating SVG cutting files, and using heavier threads in applique designs. Join us for the live Zoom meeting for FREE!

For an optional annual membership fee of $70, you'll receive unlimited access to a new recorded video each month, showing you how to do the project, available to watch at your convenience until June 2024.                                                                                                                                        Instructor: Kathy Weichmann

                                                                                                                                                Instructor: Debi Urban

Join us and choose from in person class or annual membership to recorded videos.

September's project is a free-standing lace T-shirt. If you've wondered how to insert free-standing lace embroidery designs into any fabric background, join us for this month's embroidery club and make your own Halloween T-shirt!

September's kit fee is $2.99 and includes the stabilizers for one T-shirt. You need to bring your own T-shirt to embroider on. This month's embroidery design must be purchased before class day.  Each student must purchase their own copy of the embroidery design from Embroidery Online.

Click here to go directly to the design at Embroidery Online's website.

Make sure you purchase the correct file format for your machine, and download the design to your machine or a USB stick to bring to class. We are happy to help you do this if you need assistance—please come into the store BEFORE class day and bring your USB stick with you.

In person class fee: $20 (does not include kit fee / project materials) If you join us for class in person, please bring your own embroidery machine, embroidery module, hoops and notions / accessories. Please download your design to your embroidery machine / USB drive and bring it to class with you. Use our Isacord thread in class or bring your own. You MUST register in advance—class size is limited to 10 people.

For an optional annual membership fee of $70, you'll receive unlimited access to the recorded video showing you how to do the project, available to watch at your convenience until June 2024. You can watch the video as you do your project so that you can pause and do each step as you go along. You can still purchase a kit for that month's project, subject to availability--we are happy to mail the kit to you (postage fees apply) and email embroidery designs to you when they are included with the kit (some months the project will require you to purchase and download the embroidery design yourself). Please call the store at 303-485-6681 to purchase an annual membership.

A beautiful teal quilt is the new Block of the Month class from Wilmington!

Join Teresa for this fun intermediate level class each month starting in July! Create your own stunning Teal-ing Good quilt using the kit and follow along with Teresa each month as you build it block by block over the next ten months. Finished quilt is 98" x 102"—kit includes fabric for quilt top.

You may use the Accuquilt die cutting system and the 6" and 12" QUBE dies to cut your pieces for this quilt (not required for class--you may use traditional rotary cutting methods if you prefer, or you can share our die cutter and dies in the hands on class each month). You will need to bring your own 6" or 12" cutting mat if you plan to use our die cutter--we cannot supply cutting mats for classroom use, sorry. If you have questions about using the Accuquilt for this class, please ask us!

Videos will be posted each month showing step by step instructions for that month's block(s) or section(s), and you'll have access to those videos on this website in the Members section through September of 2024.

Project materials are not included in class fee. Kit is REQUIRED as fabric colors, cuts and placement are integral to the design. Please visit the full class listing and description on the
