Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery Classes for Everyone

Our staff teaches sewing, quilting and embroidery classes featuring a wide variety of projects for different skill levels. We've even got sewing classes for kids! Most of our classes are open to owners of any brand of sewing or embroidery machine (unless specifically stated in the class description)—all you have to know are the basic functions of your machine and how it works. Please read our Class Policies before you enroll for your class.

Below is a preview of what's coming up at The Presser Foot. Please click the link in the class listing to view the entire class description on the calendar page and to see the link to the supply list. Class fee does not include supplies unless specifically stated. Please review and download the supply list before you register for the class.

Please enroll for your class by calling the store at least two days  prior to class day so that our instructors can have enough kits, handouts or other class materials for you. There may be some preparation work required before class day—if this is the case it will be noted on the class supply list, so please be sure you enroll in class enough in advance that you can complete the prep work!

We add new classes frequently. Don't see what you want? Get a couple of your friends together and ask us about creating a class just for you! To see complete details about each class and to download the supply list for that class, visit the calendar page for the store location the class will be held at and click the class listing on the calendar.

Embroidery Club is back with fun, exciting projects for 2022! Choose from in person class, live Zoom meeting to watch the recorded video, or annual membership to recorded videos.

September's project is a Halloween wall hanging. This project will teach you to quilt in the hoop using embroidery designs. The finished wall hanging measures 20" x 20". There are two different quilting / embroidery designs from OESD that you'll use to finish your wall hanging—please make sure you purchase the correct format for your machine.

Click this link to go directly to the page where you can purchase the first design.

Click this link to go directly to the page where you can purchase the second design.

September's kit cost is $15.99 and contains fabrics for the wall hanging and a spool of NiteLite ExtraGlow thread (glow in the dark thread) from Superior Threads. Kit quantities are limited and sell out fast—don't wait to get yours.

Come to class in person on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 10am to 12pm.
In person class fee: $15
(does not include kit fee / project materials) If you join us for class in person, please bring your own embroidery machine, embroidery module, hoops and notions / accessories. Then, you'll have unlimited access to a recorded video of how to make each month's block until June 2023. We recommend you tune into the live Zoom meeting and follow along so that you can see how the block is done and ask any questions you might have, then make your block with confidence, having seen it already done, and take advantage of the recorded video to guide you.

Marla and Teresa will be available to give you extra help with block instructions, assembly, or answer whatever questions you have about the Block of the Month quilts. Or maybe you just want to get together with your classmates and join us to sit and sew, work on the blocks and enjoy some social time. Bring your sewing machine and project supplies or whatever you need to work on your Illusions Quilt or Moonlight Quilt. Workshop dates are listed on the Class Calendar.
