Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery Classes for Everyone

Our staff teaches sewing, quilting and embroidery classes featuring a wide variety of projects for different skill levels. We've even got sewing classes for kids! Most of our classes are open to owners of any brand of sewing or embroidery machine (unless specifically stated in the class description)—all you have to know are the basic functions of your machine and how it works. Please read our Class Policies before you enroll for your class.

Below is a preview of what's coming up at The Presser Foot. Please click the link in the class listing to view the entire class description on the calendar page and to see the link to the supply list. Class fee does not include supplies unless specifically stated. Please review and download the supply list before you register for the class.

Please enroll for your class by calling the store at least two days  prior to class day so that our instructors can have enough kits, handouts or other class materials for you. There may be some preparation work required before class day—if this is the case it will be noted on the class supply list, so please be sure you enroll in class enough in advance that you can complete the prep work!

Bloom and Grow Serger Quilt

Saturday April 20, June 15, August 10 and October 12, 2024    from 10am to 2pm            Class Fee: $149
This class is FOUR sessions—you must come to each session.                       Instructor: Melody Munson

Make this gorgeous, modern quilt with your overlocker / chain and cover machine!

Your overlocker / chain and cover machine can be used for more than garment making or finishing edges, and if you're a quilter you will love the techniques you will learn in this class and how they can be applied to your quilt tops! In this four session class you will become very comfortable with your overlocker / chain and cover machine and piecing blocks with it, using the chain stitch to applique pieces after you've finished the edges with a rolled hem, topstitching details with decorative threads in the loopers and much more. Come into the store to see Melody's sample quilt top and all the gorgeous details.

If you have a serger but don't have a chain and cover / combo machine, you can still take this class and learn most of the techniques with your serger! There are some parts of the project you will need to modify or complete with your sewing machine instead, for example you will topstitch the applique pieces with your sewing machine instead.

Pattern fee and class materials are NOT included in the class fee. Advance registration is required—call and register today!
